The Top 10 Cancer Prevention Tips*

According to the American Cancer Society, cancer rates in the U.S. have tripled since 1900. New data from theCenter for Disease Control and Prevention in 2005 showed cancer is the second leading cause of deaths in the U.S., killing one in four people. Despite billions of dollars in research, and major advances in molecular oncology, progress in overall cancer mortality remains poor. A focus on prevention seems in order.

1) Balance your pH.

Check your first morning saliva & urine to be in range of 6.4-7.0. Ask for our pH chart and testing roll, and the article called pH: Why You Need to Know. Visit the Learning Center under ‘articles’ in our website.

2) Take extra antioxidants.

To determine antioxidant needs, do the ‘Free Radical Check’. Home test kits are available at our office (for pick up/mailing). See our videos.

3) Maintain adequate vitamin D.

Know your vitamin D level and get a blood test, which measures 25-OH vitamin D (the best form to analyze). Normal reference range is around 30-100 ng/ml, but ideal is 55-75 ng/ml, according to experts. If supplementing, take vitamin D3 and not vitamin D2, which is inferior. (1, 2) Consider K2-D3 w/astaxanthin (code: D40638) through our Virtual Pharmacy. Take 1 cap per day, unless otherwise specified by blood testing. Note: this product contains vitamin K (as MK-7). Please consult your doctor if you are taking any blood thinning drugs.

4) Eat more healthy fats!

These are the unrefined fats. Among these are wild caught fish like salmon, sardines and anchovies; avocados, olives, coconut products; raw & organic nuts and seeds like walnuts, almonds, hemp, macademia, and pumpkin; organic milled flaxseeds; and dark green leafy veggies. Avoid all deep fried foods, conventional meats, and commercial oils. (3) Consider BodyBio PC liquid - ideal for cell membrane regeneration. Use code: SP550 in our website's Virtual Pharmacy or BodyBio Balance Oil. It contains high amounts of the ideal 4:1 omega 6 to 3 ratio from Parent Essential Oils/Fats, as opposed to derivative oils like EPA and DHA. Use code: BALA3. Review our website article, Virtual Pharmacy Products & Ordering for more info to set up a free account. All products are always 20% off.

5) Use turmeric in foods.

Many studies recognize the use of this miraculous and powerful spice in cancer prevention. (4) 1 tsp /day of CoCurcumin powder (Virtual pharmacy code: AY146) is equivalent to approximately 4 tsp. of turmeric! For those who prefer pills, CurcumaSorb caps are superior (code: MCU1).

6) Use green tea.

Whether as beverage or supplement, green tea is a good friend for cancer prevention. (5, 6) Raw Matcha Powder is best (Virtual pharmacy code: M80015). Drink 2-3 cups. If capsules, take 500-1,000mg/day (at least 30% egcg content).

7) Eliminate white flour products and sugar.

The worst culprits are white bread, bagels, pasta, crackers, cookies, muffins, sodas, candy, cake and pies. If sweeteners needed, try xylitol or stevia. Switch to whole grains like brown rice, quinoa, oatmeal (not the quick variety!), barley, and go for sprouted varieties which increase nutrients. Eat organic! Most commercial grains are fumigated and genetically modified. However the best recommendation is to eliminate all grains, even if 'organic' and 'whole grain'. Why? They create insulin surges in the blood and create a dependency on the body's cells to utilize glucose (the major cancer fuel) instead of fat for energy. Many whole grains cause similar insulin surges as sodas and candy!

8) Eat at least 5-7 servings of fresh fruit & veggies a day!

This is well known, yet studies show few people eat this much. (7) Choose organic fromdifferent colors. One serving equals what fits in the palm of your hand. Best sources are the cruciferous family (broccoli, broccoli sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, brussel sprouts) and berries of all types. In general, the less animal protein you eat the better. Ideally, a whole foods, plant-based diet is ideal.

9) Ensure good digestion & elimination.

Chew your food well, eat earlier in the evening (before 7 pm), and don’t over-eat. Drink plenty of pure water, use Himalayan or pink salt in foods if needed, and consume adequate fiber, which according to the National Academy of Health’s Institute of Medicine is 38g for men and 25g for women age 50 and younger, or 30 and 21g respectively if older than 50. If you’re 35 or older, take digestive enzymes with allcooked food meals!

10) Detoxify at least twice a year.

Since ancient times, purification and cleansing was performed seasonally to rid the body of toxins. This may include fasting, dry saunas, colonics, simple eating, or liver & bowel detoxification among others. See our Cleansing & Detoxification Programs in the article section of our Learning Center. Today we’re more toxic than ever before, so keeping ourselves clean on the inside has huge advantages for the body. (8)

Although this article is titled The Top Ten Cancer Prevention Tips, there are a few more vitally important items to add to the list as well. These include:

    1. Avoid toxic personal care products.

This includes cooking materials such as aluminum and PFOA coated cookware (Teflon®); toxic lotions, soaps, shampoos, conditioners, toothpastes, deodorants, hair spray, hair coloring agents, sunscreens, etc. A list of the major chemical ingredients to avoid when shopping, along with safer alternatives, are found in our Learning Center ‘articles’. Read ‘Helpful Hints For Health’.

    2. Clear out emotional stress & traumas.

This could actually be the greatest contributor to cancer, according to the Center For Disease Control. Techniques for addressing emotional stress and deep-seated problems may be helped by Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT. To learn more, simply go to the website www.emofree.com, as well as www.abraham-hicks.com.

    3. Reduce exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs)

This is becoming a HUGE problem. Recent, un-biased studies are confirming that EMF exposure poses as a significant health risk, especially to children, pregnant, and nursing women. Additional information may be found in our Learning Center ‘articles’, under ‘Helpful Hints For Health’.
